    Default Wireless advice needed

    Hi there,
I have just bought a new laptop with a wireless card in. I also have a desktop PC with broadband. I want to utilise the wireless facility in the laptop, but am unsure what I need to buy to do this.
I think I need a "router" or a "linksys gateway" ?????? connected to my desktop

Any advice on which would be best and a possible make would be much apprecaited

    Cheers

If the desktop is just connected through a broadband modem, as stated in the previous post, you will need a wireless router. There is wireless b, and wireless G. G is faster and is usually backward compatible to b, most new equipment uses G, but some of what you find cheap is discontinued wireless b that is being dumped on the market. So, before you buy the router, make sure you know what your laptop has. If you already hook up through a wired router, you can just add a wireless access point to your system (same info for b and G).
