    Default Windows Moviemaker problem

For the first time I tried to open Windows moviemaker and it would not open. I first got a message saying

The collections file is not valid or is corrupted. A new empty collections file has been created.

then another box pops up wich says class not registered

Finally it says "A new collections file cannot be created and it then closes the program

All I can find out is you installation is corrupt and you will need to reinstall the whole program.
Hope you haven't done too much work with it.
If not I would suggest you buy a decent video application and forget the miserable MS effort.

Actually what I wound up doing was using the repair Install function with XP. It took as long as an install but none of my data or programs were lost. I also had to go through the process of reinstalling the different updates and SP2. But everything seems to be working fine, including some other problems I was having with OS programs.

    thanks
