    Default DVD burner inaccessible?

I have a fairly new Monarch computer with an internal Sony DVD burner. I also have an external Sony DVD burner. I am trying to burn 4 photos to a CD. Everytime I try to write to the DVD burner in any of the software, the computer either shuts down completely, or tells me the drive ''is not accessible. Incorrect function.'' Does not matter whether internal or external burner, same problem.

I have tried different media. I have tried rebooting. I have checked the device manager and both are supposedly working properly. I can communicate with the burners and get each to eject on command.

The problem is happening only when I try to burn. Never a problem before. Thanks for any ideas!

p.s. I have XP Pro. 1 gig RAM. Pent 4, 3.2 ghz CPU. I have multiple burning software, including the photoshop elements native burner which, until now, has always worked.

You say that you have several burning programs, did you just install a new one and then this problem started ?

Some burning programs don't like each other and there maybe a conflict.

    Cheers
