If you downloaded a Windows XP ISO, I'm afraid it is an illegal copy- to my knowledge, Microsoft doesn't electronically deliver XP. Charlie

i used nero. i have adaptec too. when i wanted to burn an iso image after extracting the ultimate boot disk file it would request for a system floppy i guess to transfer that system to the cdrom. problem is my floppy drive controllers are messed up i don't want to go the change mobo route. the xp ultimate bootable cd would be great.

and no i did not download all that illiegal stuff. i have my own xp. i just need bootable cd rom. actually i had read here about the ultimate boot disk. so i followed the link and all but i did not work.

still need help on this disk. thanx

The problem may be that the file is not being created as an iso. Check the file beforeyou burn it, does it have a .iso extension? If not, make sure you give it one when you create it. For instanc, if you want to name a file XPbootcd, make sure you name it XPbootcd.iso

FINALLY THE UBCD HAS WORKED GREAT! i was able to transfer it's system to a HD i mounted on another old pc then installed XP. unfortunately somewhere i messed up this one and i haven't been able to come back from it. i inadvertently sys'd my pc. now it's booting to the UBCD's Freecom dos. my question is what do i do to "bring back" Win ME o/s?

AND does anybody know where i can get a tutorial on the Ultimate Boot CD? it's tools/utilities are great but i just need more 411 on them.
