Default i have problem with printer hp 3845

    Hi all,

    I a printer "hp deskjet 3845".

    sometimes it print normally,
other times it donot print at all,
and some times it print a small part of the paper and then stop. notice:it always stop at the same place.

    Its a new printer.

I found that when i enter in the printer settings in the "service this device" section, then into "estimated ink level", this message is written
"the computer is unable to establish two way communication with the device".

when the printer luckly works i go to see "estimated ink level" the message dispear and the real estimation of ink level appears.

I changed the usb cable but the problem still exist.

maybe the problem is with the usb derive itself.

    I think i have usb 1.

plz if any body can help reply to me quickly .
    thanks in advance

Disconnect your USB from the computer. Next, go to Control Panel > Printers & faxes >now delete your printer. Restart your computer and install the driver (either from the disk you got or download the latest one from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...&lang=en&cc=us .. select your operating system ( XP?) ). After the driver is installed, shut your PC down .. now connect your USB to the PC and restart. Plug and Play should detect New Hardware, if it asks for a driver, either select the drive where your HP CD is, or go to where you saved the driver download. Remember, when installing hardware using USB cables always load software first then connect the hardware.

Why do you disconnect it? Do you need the USB port for something else? Is this a laptop or desktop computer? Charlie
