    Default trojan horse

    Hi guys
I have 2 computers and the other is never on the net, but i decided to upgrade the AVG virus protection anyway, it found a trojan horse
    Trojan Horse Downloader.Istbar AT.
I have looked on Symantec for the removal tool and searched for some info on it but seem to be unable to find any.
Is there any advice you can give to remove this virus.
My other pc is running windows 2000 professional

AVG says its in c:\documents and settings\default user\local setting
    Status.....Archive
    &
    Status.....imbedded object

    Thanks guys for your help

This trojan has probably become part of your backups.
The first thing to do is diable System Restore.
Right click My Computer, choose Properties then System Restore. Check the "Turn off system restore" box and reboot.
Run AVG again. You can scan that particular area by choosing Tests in AVG' Test Center and Scan Selected Areas.
Once you know it is clean reverse the above.
Now click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore and create a new restore point.
Now do what was suggested by Cunuck.
