Default Clicking on IE icon does not go to home page

My Internet Exporer Icon's......(on both the desktop and taskbar) when clicked on directs me to Windows Update instead of the URL specified in my Internet options. The "Home" icon goes to the correct homepage but the IE icon when I want to open a new browser goes to Windows Update homepage automatically. I'm sure there's got to be a simple fix but I cant seem to find where that command is being originated from.

    Any help would much appreciated!

Have you actually ran the windows update. Because I think sometimes that happens when windows update hasn't been ran.
