    Default Computer died in action

I was on the internet(Ebay) when my computer suddenly died. It just switched itself off. There was a burning smell coming from the plug so i thought maybe a fuse had blown. I tried it in another socket but nothing happened. It seems to be completely dead.

Hi Grezaldo - I'm probably stating the obvious here but did you fit a new plug/fuse? Did you cut off the last few inches of cable before fitting a new plug. There may be a break in the cable that caused a short. Regards

Sorry Grezaldo - What I should have said is...Do cut off the last few inches of cable before fitting a new plug. There may be a break in the cable that caused a short. Make sure you fit a new fuse of the same rating as your old one in the new plug. Regards

As a last resort i took it to my local computer genius. The problem was the power supply unit had burned out. He put a new one in and charged me £58.75. It works fine now.
