What format are the files you are copying and what size are they. What size are the blank cd's?

I am going to give this a shot that you may be confused over statements that a CD can hold 100's of songs.
That is true but only if those songs are MP3s and are burnt as data not audio.
This will allow you to play the CD on any MP3 player be it a portable one, a DVD Player or on a computer.
If you wanted to play music on a plain old stereo system that did not support MP3 than you burn the songs as Audio. When making an Audio CD the MP3 file is converted to it's original size, approx 10 times the size of an MP3.
So if 10 MP3 songs are say 70 meg then by the time they are burnt as Audio the size jumps to 700meg, and that is close to a CDs limit.
    Wrapping up.
To play a cd in an MP3 play burn the MP3 files as data.
To play a CD on a Stereo system of CD player burn them as Audio.
I hope I hit the mark here.
