    Default setting higher monitor resolution

This is my first post ever so please bear with me
I have read the post from [cwendover] (posted on 02/09/2006)and I am having the very same problem
but there appears to be no solution
my system is virtually identical to [cwendover]
I have run the EVEREST program and found :

    PCI/AGP Video:
    Matrox G200A (Matrox MGA-G200AGP)

    Monitor:
    HP D2828 id HWPOBOC
    max res. 1024 x 768 @65Hz

    also found Windows Video
    Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA)
    Driver: vga.drv

I really dont know anything about computers but I'm slowly learning.
Is the Windows Video a default setting and my installed video card inactive?
I have downloaded a driver (w9x_682.exe) from Majorgeeks.com and saved it to a folder.
When I click on the icon a small window appears titled:
    WinZip Self-Extractor
and it says "unzip to: c:\mgafold\w9x_682"
with buttons : Unzip, Run WinZip, Close, About, and Help
I havent gone any further yet. :?
    Please Help

    GENIUS!
Thanks very much everything seems to be working fine.
This is a great forum with a wealth of information, I will recommend it to all my friends.
P.S. I hope cwendover's problem was sovled as easily as mine.
I may have some issues with networking my computers and printers at a later date but Thanks again for all the advice.
