Default disk space full in drive c

Is there anyway to rectify this problem of having used up virtually all of my 10.2 GB hard drive aside from purchasing more space? I've D-fragged and run scandisk but still can't seem to free up space. How do I buy more memory--what do I ask for?

    bnork:

Memory and Hard drive are two different things. Memory is your RAM chip(s)

You have three options to free up HD space:

Delete programs and files that you don't need

Copy little used files and programs to a CD/DVD, then delete them from the HD

Buy another HD. It can be set up as a slave so you can move some programs and files to the slave drive.

You need to keep 15-20% of the primary HD as free space.

My suggestion is to buy a bigger HD, and install it as the new primary HD. Load your Op system on the new HD, set the old HD as the slave. Copy/move programs from the slave back to the new master.

A 10gig HD is an "old" drive in computer "time" HD's will not last forever.
I think it is time for a new HD
