Default cassette tapes to hard drive files

Can anyone take me, a registered idiot, step by step through the procedure for capturing cassette tapes onto my hard drive? My computer is an HP pavilion 7960. Thanks in advance.

If you need a free sound recorder program, I here that this one is pretty good and it is free:

Take note that you will never get CD quality sound no matter what you do.
The jog is also a lengthy one. Some software boast about automatically seperating tracks but if a track has some parts that include low volume or silence then you will end up with several sepertate tracks.
Bottom line is you need to do it manually. A lot of try and error to find the best settings for each track.
Unless the music is rare and unobtainable on CD's then you may find hours of work down the drain.
    I will PM you.
