Default Display Properties Page not opening in Windows 98

    Hi!
I have a problem in Windows 98 (though I rarely use it). When I right Click on the Desktop & click on properties, the menu disappears but the Properties page does not open If I try to open from Control Panel, it gives an error "to use this feature the display settings should be more than 256 bit". How do I solve this problem ?

Start, Run, type SFC. Click Ok. This should replace any missing or corruted Windows fikes.
Comptia A+ and Network + Certified. Microsoft MCP in Windows 2000 Pro. Server, Advanced Server and Data Center Sever.

You have the resolution set too low.
Right click the desktop, choose properties then under the settings tab change the color to at least 256 colors or higher.
If this option is missing then this means windows was unable to find the graphics card drivers so it reverts to the lowest color setting which is 16 colors.
You need to install the graphics card drivers.
