    Default file comparison

I often use a usb flash drive to use at work. I keep all my main files on my pc at home. Most of the files are in microsoft word and my operating system is windows XP.
Is there a simple piece of software (preferably freeware!) which I can use to compare the files on my PC with my flash drive to easily let me know which has the latest version of any file?

Windows comes with a utility called Briefcase. This has been around for ages but lost favor when the Internet took off.
If not installed it can be found on your XP CD.
Briefcase does exactly what you are looking for. Designed specifically for sychronizing and transfering files from one system to another.
