Default dell 5160 windows xp booting problem

I was booting to a blue screen and stop on my dell 5160 so I used my operating system reinstallation cd to reinstall windows xp professional. I deleted the partations and reinstalled windows xp-pro. Now the computer gives message no bootable devices found upon POST. I can get it to boot windows from HD by pressing f12 then select internal HD then esc then enter.
Any suggestions as to what might solve this I'm thinking this reinstall cd is not much help...

Did your system come with a recovery CD or the original XP installation CD.
    There is a difference.
Installing XP from the XP Installation disk does not require you to reformat, the installation process does that so I would reinstall again and when asked if you want to remove a partition say yes.
