    Default xp pro crash

    Hallo,
Can someone please advise how to proceed further.....
My main pc crashed and would not boot up ( blue screen of death appeared ). I ran repair from the cd and the same thing happens. At times , I can get the desktop icons to load, but it then crashes again. I went into safe mode and it boots ok....then ran chkdsk /f and tried a normal boot........still wont boot.

    Can someone please help

    thanks
    Johnny

    G'day Johnny12345,

Try a "System Restore" in safe mode:

    Start>Control Panel>Preformance and Maintance>System> System Restore.

Have a read to this Help2go Tutorial: "How to Repair XP and Avoid a Full Reinstall" ( Go to Tutorials>Windows and browse to the article).

    Reguards,

    Skygel.
    System Setup:
    XP Home (Service Pack 2)
    1800Mhz - P4(R)
    40G - ROM
    760MB - RAM
    AVG antivirus

Then try the 'last known good configuration' in the Safe Mode startup screen.
