Default Padlock symbol on safe sites

The newspapers and television have been telling everyone to only buy from sites starting with https and with a padlock symbol in the bottom right corner. This scaremongering has badly affected sales from my site www.mugworld.co.uk so how do i get the s and the padlock? I assume this will cost money therefore increasing prices but if thats what people want thats what i will give them.

I just checked your site. You are using NoChex company and I see it is secure:

    https://secure.nochex.com

    This scaremongering
Only a fool would pay something to a site was not secure.

Your site does not have to be secure, just the company that processes the payment.

Thanks Basementgeek. The problem is people have been scared off by these newspaper stories. Sales have dropped 60% in the last four months. I am even offering free local deliveries on Christmas day but nobody is interested.

Guess you can try and modify the wording on the site to indicate that on line purchases are processed through a secured site.
