    Default windows mini dump

    hi,
i was wondering if anyone could help me.
at startup of windows xp just as the blue welcome screen goes off a blue screen what looks like an ms dos screen comes on for a split second then turns off and reloads again then a box says the system has recovered from a serious error and when i read the tech info it says that the memory has been dumped and when i look in the mini dump folder it gives the icon but i cannot read any info for it.
could anyone tell me what could be causing the problem?
    thanks, jim!

Sounds like you have a BSOD (Blue Screen of Death). Please give us all the information that comes up. The Stop # and the info right after, also the Technical info that should look like this
    Technical information: *** STOP: 0x00000050 (0x8872A990, 0x00000001, 0x804F35D7, 0x00000000)
    *** ati3diag.dll - Address ED80AC55 base at ED88F000, Date Stamp 3dcb24d0
(your's won't be the same, but that will tell us what's causing the error).
