    Default Emachines power help!!

Hi i am new to this and hope you can maybe help :!:

hi not that long ago i purchased an emachines 3210 system (i no stupid) but was only for my sisters to have in their bedroom :P .

But at the time the lady couldnt find the power cable and i was wondering if i can use a normal uk power cable which i can buy from pcworld etc or do i have to buy an american one with an adapter etc :?:

As when i got the system i tried it with the power cable from my current system and heard a funny noise come from the tower like there was power getting to it but nothing was happening  So took it to a friend who works for a local cpu store and he said that i have burnt out my motherboard so this is why i am posting for help on the power supply.

PC's in the USA are set to use 110VAC, I believe the UK uses 220VAC.

Sounds like you may maybe you ran twice the voltage it requires. If that is true, guessing not worth repairing.

In the back of the PC, where the power cord plugs in, is there a tiny switch marked 110-220 ? It should directly above the plug. What is it set to ?
