    Default NTLDR is compressed, more issues to come with it.

    i get the message NTLDR is compressed etc. I used a boot disk, now i am at DOS screen. in the c drive im typing cd\ attrib -c ntldr. nothing happens. when i try to check my C drive to see whats in it. 0 files. i dont know whats happened or how to fix it. if you can please help me, it'd be much appreciated. thanks.

    I found a help column with the same problem, there were suggestions to:
    From the Repair console boot, have the CD in the drive (letter x:) and
    use
    COPY x:\i386\ntldr c:\ntldr
    I'd check on ntdetect.com as well, while you are about it. Also
    boot.ini, which you would have to delete and rebuild with the
    BootCfg /Rebuild
    command
