    Default Intel Graphics Controller alternative

is there an alternative to Intel Graphics Controller for Windows XP home ???

Intel Graphics Controller is turning on me, i can not get away from the 1024 x 768 resolution, no other resolution will stick,

i stripped it down in the add/remove programs panel, stipped to an earlier version, then my resolution was working fine, then ms auto updates put it back to the latest version,

    please help,

Get the resolution back the way you like it and then turn off automatic updates. Or leave it on and set it to ask you before installing any updates.

What Bear is saying is NEVER let Microsoft update drivers for anything that is not theirs.
Go directly to the manufacturer's site and download the drivers from there.
Take control of your life. Leave others to control their own.
