    Default XP Crashing

I have had Windows XP for a few years and it never "crashed".
Recently it has started what I call crashing almost on a daily basis.
I am on line and the screen goes blank and the start up process begins.
After I'm back up and running I get a window that says a 'Serous Error has Occurred and Windows had to close'. Then when I click on the information it says; Reason for the Error: Unknown
And it gives no way to fix this issue.
Last night I cleaned my cache out, ran AdAware, Spybot, CrapCleaner, and then defragged the drives and this morning it 'crashed' again.
Is this happening to other folks and if so, how can it be fixed?
I should add that my browser is IE7 - Service Pack 2 installed.
Thanks in advance for any help/advice.

Try uninstalling IE7, it should automatically revert to IE6 by default. See if the problem is still there. Keep us posted.

I did as you suggested. I will definitely reply back in a day of so. If it's going to crash again it will do so within that period of time.
I also am considering going with the Mozilla/Foxfire browser as an alternative to IE.
    Thoughts on this?
