    Default Error msg with Excel

When I open Excel I get an error msg “The feature that you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM................” If I then cancel the msg it occurs again. This will repeat four times and then Excel is available for use.

    What 's gone wrong?
Is a set-up file corrupted or missing?
If so, how can I identify what it is?

I’m running Windows XP Professional on a Toshiba Satellite portable.

There probably is a damaged file in Office. Have you got the latest updates for your version, if not do so, it may correct the error. The other alternative is to uninstall Office (Add/Remove in Control Panel), reboot and then reinstall Office (and update of course). Periodically files do get damaged and a reinstallation of a program is the route to go.
