    Default vista cache help

What is the best way to clear caches for applications, not web browsers on Vista?

    bb2graham,

Are you using a special program that is asking you to do this? something like below"

Clear Application Cache: Clears all Cache API cache entries. Will not remove output cached pages and controls unless these depend on an entry in the cache.

Nothing is asking me to do this. I just want to know if it'll help the computer to clear this out occasionally...

Here is how to fix that corrupted DNS cache in vista.

    1. Click the Microsoft Vista Start logo in the bottom left corner of the screen
    2. Click All Programs
    3. Click Accessories
    4. RIGHT-click on Command Prompt
    5. Select Run As Administrator
    6. In the command window type the following and then hit enter: ipconfig /flushdns
    7. You will see the following confirmation:

    Windows IP Configuration
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.

Don't need to do the above unless there is a problem with connection.

The only other cache is in the cpu and that clears on a system re-start, other members may have more to add.
