    Default Invalid system disk

Recently, my non-profit agency received a donattion of 12 compaqs with intel pentium processors and running windows 98. Every computer shows the same message when turned on: Invalid system disk. If I press F10, I can get into a set up screen, but it only seems to allow me to make changes in the date/time and most of the rest I don't really understand. It does not show me a setuplog file with more specifics. These computers did not come with any disks.
    Thanks.

Normally this occurs when you have a disk in the floppy drive or cd drive, please ensure this is not the case.

if that is not the case, there is a good chance the pc's were 'wiped' before donation, meaning you will need to either get the operating system disks from the donator, or re-purchace seperate operating systems for each pc, which will prove costly.

obviously, await other advice before commiting to a financial solution.

perhaps ring the local computer shop, and ask them to look at one of them in exchange for some free advertising or something?
