    Default Questions on posting

Is there a time delay between posting a reply and that being notified to the subscriber's email? For instance, if there's an edit a few seconds after posting, is the original sent or the new version?

Second question, though more of a request. On more than one occasion, I've written a reply to a post, previewed it, maybe got distracted, then come back to the page and returned to the main menu without submitting it. It's only later that I realise the post isn't there!!

Whilst that's a credit to the preview system in that it looks like the submitted post, it's a pity there isn't a warning when moving away from the page, something like..

'Do you want to submit this post? Continuing will delete your text.'

Virtually every piece of software offers that option, how about here?

    Hi arraknid,

I did some poking around, and for the first question, the email is formulated and sent right away. It's part of the posting process, and I don't think I can change it.

Your 2nd question is a good point - I'll see what I can find relating to that.

Thanks Osc, I thought that would be the case after finding emailed messages are sometimes different to the actual post.

Thanks for looking at the second thing. I'm surprised it isn't included in the original V-Bulletin software.

    Hmm - I've scoured the vbulletin forums and I can't find a plug-in that does this. It's definitely not a built-in option - I checked every menu.

This seems strange, as I would have thought this was a frequently requested feature...

That's a pity. I'll just have to think twice in future.

    Thanks anyway.
