Default Image Refresh in Win 8... a quick fix

This will save hours of forum help in most cases for Win 8 end-users

    Image Refresh in Win 8

If you are having corruption issues in Win 8...use refresh....not to be confused with reset which is a clean repair

Reset is quick too, but you lose your data and installed programs...so lets talk about refresh which saves data and programs too
(Unless you update your refresh image it will only keep Windows programs and tiles...Updating will be covered in the link below too)

Refresh Image will be quicker than most troubleshooting application and only takes minutes to do

It will work if Windows is running or from the repair boot CD if Windows needs to be booted

    Refresh Windows 8

    Tip

If you would like to be able to refresh Windows 8 with a custom recovery image that you would have needed to previously created and registered, then see:

Refresh Windows 8 - Create and Use Custom Recovery Image

    OR

Refresh Windows 8 - Set a Custom Recovery Image as Active

    Default

    BTW:

I use Thunderbird for Email....when I refresh I always update my refresh image regularly

If you do not ...it will only keep Win 8 installed programs...update is simple and done thru the Cmd option

This keeps TB Email as a new program...however, you will need to enter your email settings after the refresh...because TB will be reset as a new program too

Also, Run windows updates just to be safe

This is all done by Win 8 and is much better than the old Win repair option
