    Default mystery problem with one website

    This post is made on recommendation of DonnaB in the Computer help forum...

    website not displaying


    I am having trouble loading ONE (only one) website correctly - Photobucket.com.

    Other than that the computer is working fine.

    I have carried out full system, deep, scans with SAS & MBAM. They both came up completely clear & clean.......

    ALL NOW FIXED!!

    Please don't bother to waste time investigating my PC any more unless you see anything odd in the HJT log.

    Turns out the reason the website in question wouldn't load - it was blocked INCORRECTLY by parental protection software K9... K9 Web Protection - Free Internet Filter and Parental Control Software | Free Internet Filtering and Parental Controls Software

    I had added an exception in K9 to allow Photobucket.com no matter what it tried to load but K9 - apparent - refused to play ball.

    No matter what I tried it blocked some sections of the site.

    I uninstalled K9 completely et voila all is now working as it should.

    I will be reporting this back to K9.

    Safe Mode with networking would not have loaded the k9 program and you would have probably connected indicating a program is causing issue. Then we could have focused on a program installed on the machine. Safe Mode with networking is a powerful resource and troubleshooter.
