    Default Page Cannot Be Displayed

    Hi there,
I'm writing for my parents, who think their computer has probably been hijacked. One morning when they tried to use the internet, it just said "Page Cannot Be Displayed" instead of bringing up any pages. Any other programs which use the internet have stopped working as well. Their internet connection is still good. The computer uses Windows XP Pro. They are running Norton Anti-Virus, which they updated and ran a scan the day before. They are running Zone Alarm firewall, and they are running Spybot Search and Destroy, which they updated and ran a scan the day before as well. They also have Spyware Guard and Javacool's Spyware Blaster, which was updated the day before. Their windows updates are current. Since they can't access the internet, they are unable to run any online scans or download updates for new programs I might download for them. The Help2Go Detective didn't find anything significant.
I'm out of ideas, so I'm turning to you.
    Here's their Hijack This log:

    Hi

    1. Download LSPfix from here: http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Save it to a folder on your computer.

    2. Click the Lspfix.exe file

    3. Make a note of everything in the keep & remove sides (make 2 lists)

    4. Exit the program with the X in the top right hand corner (do NOT click finish)

    5. Past the names of those files in your next post here...

    You stated :

Their internet connection is still good
How are determining this if no pages can be displayed?

As far as the LSP fix you ran, I am going to assume the last entry was

rsvpsp.dll not rsvpst.dll. If so not an LSP error.

By chance did you try a system restore back to a time before they lost their connection ?

    Default Firewall

OK, well, their computer came with Norton already installed, and it was going to expire in the next couple of days. We turned off the Norton firewall, and they were able to get on the internet. She's still running ZoneAlarm, so she should be fine. I'm not sure why Norton decided to freak out in its last hours. Does it usually do that?
Anyway, thank you for your help.

Very possible because you were using 2 firewalls. One one anti virus and one firewall at a time.

Hard telling what Norton does, that is why so many of us don't use it.
