    Default Help2-Go found Suspicious entries...

    Hi,
    AVG found the following but was unable to fix it: Trojan Horse Generic Downloader.SSX I also googled it and found no help with it. So... I came here and did the help2go detective and it found suspicious entries and it led me here to start a new topic ... any help would be appreciated...

    What was the name and location of the file found by AVG ?

    Disconnect from the internet Close ALL browser windows (including this one) - run hijackthis and tick to fix (check the box next to) the list below.........when all are ticked (checked) click the Fix Checked button at the bottom. :-

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [THMBG] C:\WINDOWS\THMBG.EXE


    Reboot then find and delete :-

    C:\WINDOWS\THMBG.EXE ... file

    Hi

    This is an infected java applet ... you will have to manually browse to it and delete it....

    C:\ > WINDOWS > ApplicationData > Sun > Java > Deployment > cache > javapi > v1.0 > jar

    right click and select "delete" arc.zip-1eba227c-73d9243c.zip

    This should also take care of the second one on your list...
