I followed the instructions posted on this website to remove the razespyware--the obnoxious bright red screen is now gone as well as the banner associated with it. However, I am left with a solid white face screen on my windows XP--the screen flickers to various shades of white every several seconds. I can tell that the white screen is an "over lay" over my traditional blue windows xp face screen. The original blue screen can be seen for a few seconds while XP is loading and when you right click anywhere on the face screen. Anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do next?
PS... I tried using Mcafee's support and they were absolutely useless!
Do we have something published on removing Razespyware ?
Try Start>Control Panel>Display> Desk Top>Customize>Web Tab>
If there is anything listed, highlight it and check delete. Also if the lock desk top is checked, un check it. Click apply/ok.
In that "web" tab that BG is instructing you to check on, if you should find anything there called "Security" you should uncheck it.
You can also try this:
Rightclick on your desktop > properties > tab Appearances and choose Windows XP style under windows and buttons.
Click apply and OK.
...and if you can't find anything labeled "XP" style, then:
Download this file from Kelly's Korner to your desktop.
Unzip the resources.zip file and find the file named Luna.msstyles... the file size will be 4,089 kbytes.
Move this file to C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Luna (don't move it anywhere else!)
You may already have the same Luna file listed in this folder, but you must replace it with the new one.
