Your log tells me you've been having some Blue Screen issues. Have you gotten any error messages or does it just reboot automatically at times?

I don't see much in the log that hurts my feelings. You have a couple entries that should be removed. However, you are running some protective software that would interfere. Please disable SpywareGuard, Ewido Guard, and TeaTimer.

You can re-enable them after this fix.

Please run HijackThis again and put a check in the box next to these:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = NOT USED (OK)
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = NOT USED (OK)
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = NOT USED (OK)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UserFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -u
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

The 06 entry below more than likely is present because you have enabled the Administrative Lock down feature in Spybot Search and Destroy. If you know with certainty that you have not used that feature then put a check in the box next to this too:
    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

    O16 - DPF: {9522B3FB-7A2B-4646-8AF6-36E7F593073C} - http://a19.g.akamai.net/7/19/7125/4045/ftp...23/cpbrkpi e.cab[/b]

Is Allstream Corporation in Ontario a part of your ISP or Network? If not, put a check in the box next to this entry too:
    O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\..\{9D3A964F-F3A5-47A7-A 21D-48946A211E0E}: NameServer = 206.222.68.10 206.222.68.130

Close all windows except for HijackThis then click Fix Checked.

Reboot the computer and post back a new HijackThis log. Thanks!

    1972vet asked you this:

Your log tells me you've been having some Blue Screen issues. Have you gotten any error messages or does it just reboot automatically at times?
    We need your answer.

Still a "little" concerned at about the 017 entry. Your ISP comes back to NJ, USA while that entry comes back Toronto CA. Do you know it ?

Only thing I see left in your log is this one, it is not Yahoo:

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...://my.yaho o.com

Disconnect from the internet, close all browser windows including this one. Check the above file to have HJT fix.

Press the fixed check button. Re boot the PC.

This will clean up the log, but we would like hear about the Blue screen error's.

Thanks for the response so quick. I didn't touch the allstream line because it is my ISP. I do NOT get blue screens or error messages..and it has never booted by itself.

Will do another hijackthis log and will take the red.clientapps out and then will post another hijackthis log....I do thank you....David

    Hi

The reason 1972vet asked you about blue screens was because these entries are "memory dumps" and are usualy indicative of crashes in windows.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UserFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -u

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KernelFaultCheck] %systemroot%\system32\dumprep 0 -k

You asked for help with your log, but you didn't say exactly whay problems your are having (if any)

My friend had made XXXXXXX.com her start page and it reverted back to yahoo page ..She wanted her home page to stay the same and not Yahoo..I suggested that she run a hijackthis log and with the lil knowledge i had i knew the red.clientapps.yahoo.com/customize/...//www.yahoo.com was not legit, but I needed an expert opinion.... Now here is her last hijackthis and from what i asked her about the questions posed, she said she had never had her system reboot by itself.... So here is the last hijackthis log...

    Hi

You still have this in your log :-

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cust...//my.yahoo.com

this can be fixed as well...

    O16 - DPF: {9522B3FB-7A2B-4646-8AF6-36E7F593073C} - http://a19.g.akamai.net/7/19/7125/4045/ftp...23/cpbrkpi e.cab

Occasionally the red.clientapps entry is so embedded in the registry, that's virtualy impossible to remove ... but it's so minor, it's nothing to worry about...

    Is her problem resolved ?
