    Default Freezing.... all the time..

My laptop has the most annoying problem ever... any help would be REALLY greatfully recieved.

Basically.. I just bought this laptop and it was fine for like... 2 or 3 days... now it just freezes all the time. It's not just generic freezing.... like a programme (typically IE7) will stop running, and i'll have to CTRL, ALT and Delete to close it, but then i cannot re-open it. After this happens.. the exact same thing will happen with my other programmes in turn... Firefox, MSN and AIM (all latest versions). The only way to rectify it is to reset the PC.... which is extremely annoying.

I was advised to download "Hijackthis" and post the log on here... so here goes:

    HI

Your log's clean ... 2 or 3 days... you haven't had time to pick up malware ...

Just one orphan key in your log ... & that's from a legit program ...

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file) > Windows Live Messenger

Do you get blue screens as well ?

Freezing could be from several causes ...

    1. Computer too full ... doubt that ... 2 or 3 days old ..
    2. Bad RAM ... always possible ...
    3. driver conflicts

If this is a brand new laptop ... with vista, it looks like it ...

    2 suggestions...

    1. Reset to factory conditions and try again (you can't have much on it yet)
    2. Take it back where you bought it ... it must be under guarantee.

Ok, thanks a lot. Yea... It should still be under guarentee, although the problems seems to have got better in the last few days. If it returns I will try restoring it though. Thanks.

About the one file you picked out... is that a problem? and if so what can i do?

    HI

No ... the entry wont be causing any problems ...

You can remove it if you want to ...

Run hijackthis and place a checkmark next to this entry ...
