Here at Help2Go, we've gotten a lot of hits recently about an error message popping up that says DAX Error. There are many different manifestations of this error message, and so far noone has been able to pinpoint the exact cause, except to say that it is probably related to a corrupted or outdated library file on your PC.

To fix the problem, the very first thing you should do is to run Windows Update. Make sure you are on the latest service pack level, then install all of the recommended updates. Make sure you install the latest version of the Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC).

Reboot your PC after everything has been installed.

If the problem still exists, run through the steps in our Malware Removal Guide. While this problem may or may not be related to adware, this guide helps you run through your PC and make sure that it is absolutely clean of any infections. Posting a HijackThis log in our forums may help us figure out how to fix the error (how to do this is explained in the guide).
