People who have MusicMatch 10 installed on their PC often get an error window entitled ShellconHiddenWindow. This error results when the MusicMatch program that is running in the background cannot connect to the Music Match server - it then rudely hangs your computer!

The MusicMatch program may have a conflict with your firewall. A quick way to relieve the problem is to check your firewall and make sure that MusicMatch has the authority to connect to the Internet.

An even quicker way is to disable the function that allows MusicMatch to connect to the Internet at all. Load MusicMatch 10. Go to the Options, then Settings, then General. Uncheck the two options that allow the program to connect to the MusicMatch servers. Then, still in the Options / Settings, find the Music Library option, then Player. Uncheck the option for "Quick Play in the System Tray".

Restart your PC, and see if the Shell con Hidden Window error persists.

If it does, consider uninstalling MusicMatch altogether. If you would rather keep the program, you can just remove MusicMatch from the startup menu. To do so, follow the instructions here
