How to remove the TR/Dropper.Gen Trojan

We've seen some false positives on Avira AntiVir finding the TR/Dropper.Gen Trojan on Acer computers or computers with an Atheros network component. Here's how to find out if you've really got it:




The first step to checking your PC for TR/Dropper.Gen is to install and run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. We have a tutorial here.

Next, go through the steps in our Get Rid of Spyware article and post a HijackThis log if necessary. With a thorough check, we can make sure that this nasty trojan is removed from your PC once and for all.
